But YouTube just supports the following video formats: MOV, MP4 (MPEG4), AVI, WMV, FLV, 3GP, MPEGPS and WebM. So, the reason you failed to upload AVCHD video is that YouTube doesn't support MTS and M2TS format for uploading.

According to YouTube official, you can also submit video in format MOV, MPEG4, AVI, WMV, MPEGPS, FLV, 3GPP, ProRes, HEVC (h265), etc. Here is how to convert AVCHD video to any of these format.
