Sometimes you may find that your video can’t be played on your TV or iPad. There could be an error message saying that the audio codec is not supported. Well, in this situation, you can simply switch to another media player to fix it. Yet, if you can’t get to other players, another solution is to change the video’s audio to a supported format. All you need for this is a reliable video converter. I will introduce one such converter below and show you how to change audio format of a video in detail. Without further ado, let’s get started.
The video converter we will use is called WonderFox HD Video Converter Factory Pro. It is a professional application for handling various video- and audio-related problems, such as conversion, compression, editing, and downloading. As for changing a video’s audio format, it can help you easily convert the audio format while keeping the video intact. Let me show you how to change audio codec of a video with this software below.
Note: The software supports all major video/audio inputs and 500+ preset outputs. So you don’t have to worry about the compatibility issue with your video. The following tutorial gives you an example of converting AC3 audio in MKV to AAC.
Launch HD Video Converter Factory Pro and open the Converter. Next, click + Add Files to import the video into the converter. Or you can drag and drop the file into the program directly.
Tips: If you have a batch of videos, you can add them all into this converter for batch conversion at once.
On the right side of the workspace, click the format image to unfold the output format list. Under the Video category, choose the same video format as the original.
Open Parameter settings below the format image. Next, go to Audio settings and click the Encoder drop-down list. Select your needed audio codec, such as AAC. Then, click OK to save the changes.
Click the bottom triangle button to set an output folder or leave it as default. Finally, hit Run to start the conversion.
Tips: Since it only changes the audio codec of the video, there will be no quality drop in your video, and the conversion will be done immediately.
