Follow the how-to setup instructions below and binge-watch your anime shows.

9Anime add-on is developed based on a famous website with the same title, which covers a very, very wide range of subbed and dubbed anime well arranged in different categories. With 9Anime Kodi add-on installed, you are allowed to free stream tons of top anime in HD standard, yeah, no ads & no cost & no registration required!


You've probably heard of Cypher's 9Anime, which is regarded as a duplicate & ripoff and censured by a developer - DxCx. Now Cypher's 9Anime is no longer available for installation. However, you can still download and install it from DxCx repository. Next, I'll elaborate on the detailed installation steps.


Note: 9Anime add-on requires Kodi Version 17.0+, so you'd better update your Kodi to the latest version to make it work. Furthermore, this post is demonstrated for instructional purpose ONLY. 9Anime Kodi add-on doesn't host any stream, all content is obtained from 9Anime website using scrapers. It's an unofficial add-on, DO NOT seek help from Kodi forum.

Method 1 - How to Install 9Anime Add-on via DxCx Kodi Repository?

Kodi 9Anime add-on has been hosted in DxCx repository. You're able to install the standalone addon using a ZIP file, but this method will not support automatic updating. To make sure you'll never miss any timely update, it's recommended to install DxCx repository first.

Step 1. Open Kodi app, click on the cogwheel icon in the upper left corner of Kodi Home interface.

Step 2. Go to "File manager" category.

Step 3. Double click "Add source" and press None.

Step 4. Type in "https://beta.wonderfulsubs.com/kodi/" on the on-screen keyboard, or just copy and paste the file path into the location box. Then click OK.

If there is an "Unable to connect" error showing up or no files at all, alternatively, you can also directly download the ZIP file of DxCx repository from the developer's GitHub page below, then install it to Kodi via "Install from zip file" option.

Step 5. Give it a random name, here I entered "DxCx" as shown in the screenshot, and hit OK. You'll see a new "DxCx" folder added right away.

Step 6. Go back to Settings interface and select "System" category.

Step 7. Hover mouse over "Add-ons" tab, and validate "Unknown sources" option so that you can install the 3rd-party add-on or repository. Click OK on the pop-up warning dialog box.

Step 8. Return to Kodi Home screen and navigate to "Add-ons" menu on the left sidebar.

Step 9. Press "opened box" icon to open "Add-on browser".

Step 10. Select "Install from zip file" option.

Step 11. Open "DxCx" media source or the location you saved the downloaded DxCx Repository ZIP file, you'll find "repo.plugin.video.9anime-x.x.x.zip" right there. Select it to download and install the repo.

Step 12. Wait a moment till the installed notification appears at the top-right corner. Then select "Install from repository" option > go to "DxCx Kodi Repository" > "Video add-ons", now you can download and install Kodi 9Anime plugin.

Step 13. When the installation is complete, run 9Anime, the subbed and dubbed anime will be arranged in different categories. Well done! Just enjoy your wonderful anime time!

Method 2 - How to Install DxCx Kodi Repository via Git Browser?

Now the project of DxCx Kodi Repository has been hosed on GitHub - the world's leading software development platform. You know what, you can find a great quantity of excellent third-party Kodi add-ons on GitHub. With Git Browser installed, you don't need to waste time finding working source URL, installing any add-on hosted on GitHub is nothing difficult.


Step 1. Launch Kodi, go to "Add-ons", "Program add-ons", and run Git Browser.

Step 2. Select "Search by GitHub Username", or you can select "Search by GitHub Repository Title" or "Search by Addon ID" based on your preference.

Step 3. Start a new search and type in the developer name "DxCx", then click OK.

Step 4. It will list all add-ons and repositories associated with DxCx. And you can install DxCx Kodi Repository with a simple click. After done, install 9Anime for Kodi from DxCx repo as demonstrated in Method 1.
